THE CITY MISSION

NEW PREMISES NEEDED The necessity of finding new premises within a month places the Auckland City Mission in a serious position. For the past 17 years it has occupied rooms in Wellesley Street West hut, as these are to he reconditioned, it has become necessary to seek other offices. "So far we hare been nnable to find suitable accommodation," said the city missioner, the Rev. Jasper Caldfr, yesterday. "I am particularly anxipus that the work of the shop should not be interrupted." In addition to office and shop space, room was also required for the medical clinic and dispensary and the small chapel, added Mr. Calder. Since the commencement of the mission its activities ; had trebled. Benefits to the value of some £4OOO were distributed every year.
