PRISON TERM INCREASED APPEAL COURT DECISION [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Friday The Court of Appeal to-ilav heard the case of the Kins versus Clement Robert Lawson. Having been sentenced to one year's hard labour on each charge concurrently, at Auckland, in February, 1937, by Mr. Justice Callan for the offences of breaking and entering by night, with intent to commit a crime, and being in the possession of housebreaking instruments, and being also declared an habitual criminal, the prisoner made application to the Court of Appeal for cancellation of that declaration. The Court this morning cancelled the declaration that he was an habitual criminal, but varied tho remainder of the sentence to four years' hard labour.
