REICHSTAG ELECTION
CANDIDATES TOTAL 1717 SOME PROMINENT NAMES BERLIN, April 7 An official gazette contains a list of 1717 candidates for the Reichstag election, of whom about 800 will obtain seats. The first seven names are those of Herr Hitler, Herr Hess, FieldMarshal Goering, Drs. Frick and Goebbels, Herr Amann, official publisher to the Nazi Party, and Herr Bohle, head of the department controlling Germans abroad. A large number of Austrians are included among the first 800 names. Dr. Anton Rintelen, whom the Nazis had intended to be the Austrian Chancellor after the murder of Dr. Dollfuss, is also among the candidates.
