IK PLACER DEVELOPMENT Placer Development, Limited, reports that for the three months to March 1, Prtto Consolidated No. 1 and 2 and 3 dredges (South America) dug 1,416.000 cubic yards, recovering 284307.. of fino gold, equiralent to 99,505 dollars (£19,901, New Zealand currency). Throughout the period, No. 2 and 3 dredges were operating in very low-grade ground due to ft shortage of power delaying their advance. The first 5000 horse-power unit of the Anori hydro-electric plant was completed toward the end of February. Four or possibly five hydraulic units will be operating early in April and dredges four and five should be completed before the end of April and bo in production by about the end.of May. 1 ( or the same quarterly period, Asnazu Gold Dredging, Limited (South America) handled 335,100 cubic yards recovering 52730z. fine gold, equivalent to 184,555 dollars (£36,911, New Zealand currency).
