HOSPITAL AUXILIARY

MORNING TEA PARTY HELD TWO MEMBERS HONOURED A morning tea which served the double purpose of welcoming one member and farewelling another was held yesterday morning in the Lyceum Club lounge by members of the Auckland Hospital Auxiliary. Mrs. Alfred Kidd, a past-president of the auxiliary, who has recently returned from an extended visit abroad, received a cordial welcome home, while Mrs. C. E. Maguire, a foundation member, who has also filled the office of honorary secretary and treasurer, was fa reive lied on the eve of her departure for England. The guests were received by the auxiliary president, Mrs. A. 1). Campbell, and tho patroness, Lady Davis, on behalf of the members, presented both guests of honour with charming bouquets. She congratulated Mrs. Kidd on the honour conferred upon her by the King and spoke of the splendid work and co-operation the auxiliary had received from her during her term of office. She also spoke highly of Mrs. Maguire's services to tho organisation. On behalf of the members Mrs. Kidd presented a travelling cushion to Mrs. Maguire, who, in returning thanks, intimated her intention of continuing her work for the auxiliary on her ret urn from Kngland.
