POINT CHEVALIER BUILDING | CHANGE-OVER TO-MORROW New public library facilities have been made available at Point Chevalier b.y. the City Council and will be in use to-morrow. The library is to be shifted from the present overcrowded building to the Point Chevalier Hall, which has been altered structurally and furnished to provide first-class library accommodation.

The small building which, up to now, has housed the Point Chevalier branch library, was formerly the Hemuera library, but it was shifted to Point Chevalier in 1926, when the present brick building was erected in Remuera Road With the rapid development of Point Chevalier as a residential suburb the old building has become much too small for the demands placed upon it. Ventilation and lighting havo received special attention and bookcases of a 'modern and convenient type have been installed. The rooms are well furnished and the shelves provide accommodation for about 7000 volumes. ,

In addition to the library facilities, the reconstructed building also contains two committee rooms for uso by local organisations.
