CASE OF TOM MOONEY ACTION BY STATE ASSEMBLY SACRAMENTO. March 13 The Californian State Assembly, by •41 votes to 29, agreed to a pardon for Tom Mooney, after two days of heated debate. The Attorney-General contends that the motion has no legal standing. The sponsors hope, however, that it will influence the Governor to grant Mooney a legal pardon. Mooney has already of a life sentence for his alleged part in the Preparedness Day bombings in 1916, when 10 people were killed* He has repeatedly protested his innocence.
