SINGER AS CANDIDATE MR. McCORMACK MAY STAND (Received March 18, 8.10 p.m.) HOLLYWOOD, March IS The famous Irish tenor Mr. John McCorinack has announced that lie has received so many requests from his friends to stand for the Presidency of Eire that he will probably offer himself as a candidate for it, provided the fact that he is a naturalised American citizen does not interfere with his eligibility. Mr. McCormack explained that Mr. do Valera intends to become Prime Minister, leaving the Presidency open.
