HUNTLY FUNCTIONS
GARDEN PARTIES HELD CHURCH FUNDS BENEFIT A successful garden party in aid of St. Paul's Church funds was held on Wednesday afternoon at the homo of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Burgess, Hakanoa Street, Huntly. Several competitions were held, the winners being:— Treasure hunt, Mrs. R. Clinch; clock golf, Mrs. W. C. Davies; musical parcel, Mrs. A. Tait; hidden number, Mrs. R. Clinch; ladder croquet, Mrs. J. B. Sanders; ring the boll croquet, Mrs. W. C. Davies; flower guessing, Miss H. Ralph. Little Grace Schoen danced a Highland fling. Among those present were: —Tho Rev. J. C. A. Zimmerman, Mesdames Zimmerman, J. W. Burgess, F. Harris, W. Speirs, D. Luke, Honey, P. Crimmins, K. S. Caldwell, R. Schoen, W. D. Partis, W. Parkes, J. B. Sanders, A. Carlton, H. A. Clinch, R. Clinch, W. C. Davies, T. H. Bousfield, Hornox, C. Bond, W. T. Bond, Ford, T. Douglas, D. Harmsworth, E. Home, Young, B. Kinson, F. Meek, Rabbage, A. Tait, T. A. Oxenhain, J. Foster, Bond, L. Foster, Boyd (Rotorua), T. Cox, R. C. D. Lightbourne, Ainscough, .T. Higham, D. Fletcher, Misses P. Carlton, E. Partridge, Armstrong, J. Lightbourne, H. Ralph. The grounds at Dr. and Mrs. A. B. Jameson's residence in Hakanoa Street, Huntly, were the scene of a most enjoyable garden party on Wednesday afternoon, the proceeds beintr ill aid of the Knox Presbyterian Church funds. Competitions comprised ring quoits, peg quoits and ring the bell croquet. The highest aggregate points for tho competitions were recordad by the Rev. J. J. Heard, who was adjudged the winner, while Mr. Duffus (Rotongaro), and Miss L. Hutchinson tied for second prize. A cake and produce stall was supervised by tho members of tho Ladies' Guild, who also were in charge of afternoon tea. Among those present were: —Dr. and Mrs. A. B. Jameson, Rev. and Mrs. J. J.
