Hair, farmer, of Elstow, was admitted by Harold Johnson, aged 20, farm hand, in the Magistrate's Court yesterday, before Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M. He also admitted charges of negligent driving and driving without a licence. , A statement made by accused Was read to the Court by Constable Hinton. In the statement accused admitted the car from in front of the Te Aroha post office and driving in the direction of Waibou. He accelerated to overtake another car and after passing it returned to his correct side. His car skidded and capsized against a telegraph pole. • On the charges connected with the conversion of the car and the accident, accused was placed under police supervision for three years, and ordered to make restitution to the owner of the car of £8 10s. the cost of the damage done to it. He was prohibited from holding a driver's licence without previous written permission of the probation | officer, and on tie charge of driving without a licence he was fined 20s and costs.
