ARRIVAL OF AMBULANCE
ALLEGATION OF DELAY REQUEST FOR EXPLANATION [from oun own con respondent] WHANGAREI. Friday The Whangnrci Hospital Board decided at its meeting yesterday to ask for an explanation of the delay that was alleged to have occurred in the arrival of the ambulance at tho scene of an accident recently. The ambulance in Whangarci is controlled by the Y.M.C.A. Division of the St. John Ambulance Brigade, but is subsidised by tho board. The subject was introduced by Mrs. V. Donaldson, who said she understood that, owing to the delay of the ambulanco the victim of an accident had not reached tho hospital until four hours after tho accident. Tho victim had died, but if ho could have boon brought into hospital within a reasonable tinio, there may have boon ft different result. Another member of the board, Mr. A, Stephen, said tho man had laid in tho watertablo of the road for some hours before the arrival of the ambjtlanco, although it had been called immediately after tho accident.
