| EXPERIENCES IN ENGLAND HARRY LISTER AS FILM ACTOR * / [from our own correspondent] LONDON. Feb. '2ft Tho former New Zealand middleweight boxing champion, George Low, of Christohureh, who has also held tho Dominion backstroke swimming title, has been meeting with success in his quest of a professional boxing career in England. Ho lias signed a. contract with the National Sporting Club, for four fights under its auspices. |ln his first bout lie knocked* out Don Walton, of Ponton, in the opening round. Tho contest was at Karl's Court, one of. London's largest boxing arenas. He is to have another fight in a: fortnight's time. Meanwhile, ho is bbing given advice by the former Now Zealand professional middle-weight champion, Harry Lister, who retired from active participation in tho sport •six months ago. ! Since he gave up boxing in England, Lister has been trying his luck in films. He has already appeared in "lie Was Her Man," "Kate Plus Ten," and "Who (Joes Next," and now has a part in "Convict 99," in which Will Hay is the chief actor. He has had only small parts hitherto, but has moro to do in his latest lilm as a fellow-convict of Will Hay. In this picture ho narrowly missed a speaking part, in between his film work Lister is carrying out a contract to give boxing and physical culture instruction to five boys' clubs in South London.
