S.i Two musical families were united in London 011 February 19, when -Miss Kdith Elizabeth Page, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. 11. Page, ol South Norwood, was married to Mr. Hubert Carta (formerly Carter), New Zealand tenor, sou of the late Mr. Charles Carter and Mrs. Hull-Smith (formerly Mrs. Nellie Carter), of Auckland. The ceremony was very quiet and took place at St. Luke's Church, AYoodside, Croydon The best man was Mr. Wainwright Morgan, the New Zealand pianist. The bride was given away by her father. Her magnificent wedding gown, worn at the evening reception which followed the wedding ceremony, was of gold lame satin, with a spray of red carnations. The same flowers adorned her small gold muff, and the red note was picked up again in her gold and garnet earrings.

The reception, which was held in the Hall of India fit the Overseas League, was the occasion of a very delightful programme of music. The bridegroom sang several solos, accompanied by his bride on the piano, and also a number of duets with Mrs. Wainwright Morgan (formerly Miss Menetta Mariott), the Australian soprano, with Mr. Morgan at the piano. Mr. Carta especially delighted his listeners with a group of Maori songs and Mrs. Carta, herself a gifted pianist, gave several items. Miss Stella Murray also sang. The music was followed by dancing, in which about 200 guests, including manv New Zealanders, took part.

The guests included Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Marriott. Mr. and Mrs. Wainwright Morgan, Mr. and Mrs. Lance Fairfax, Dr. and Mrs. J. Kemble, Mrs. Dorothy Ash ford, Mrs. Alan Mitchell, Madame Evans Williams, Madame Esta d'Argo, Miss Stella Murray, Miss Nolle Scania 11, Miss Eileen Driseoll. Miss Essie Ackland, Miss Ashford, Miss Alma McGruer and Miss Christina Young.
