BROADBENT'S FLIGHT
AHEAD OF SCHEDULE NOW ON WAY TO RANGOON (Received March 15, 11.45 p.m.) LONDON, March 15 The Australian airman Mr. H. F. Broad tent, who in attempting to break Miss Jean Batten's England-Australia solo flight record of 5 days 21 hours 3 minutes, was 29 minutes ahead of schedule when li>s flew over Calcutta at 4.;>0 a.m. (Greenwich mean time) en route to Rangoon. His time to Allahabad was 70 hours 21 minutes, compared with Miss Batten's 72 hours 5 minutes.
