TWO DENTAL CLINICS
TAUPO DISTRICT NEEDS £2OO GRANT PROVIDED [BY TRI.EC.KAI'H —OWN COHItESPONDKNT] TAUPO, Tuesday A decision to make a free grant cf about £2OO. the share to be found by Taupo residents toward the cost of two dental clinics in the district, one at Taupo and the other at i'okaanu, has been made by the Tnwharetoa Thrust Board. Jt was stated that the two buildings would cost 'approximately £'6oo. Ilia sum would carry a Government subsidy of £2 for £l. Of the necessary £2OO to be provided originally by tine residents, the Maoris' share would have been £134, and the Kuropeans',# £66. The Maori quota was already guaranteed by the trust board. The Rev. J Laughton. chairman of the temporary committee set up .to further the dental clinic plan, thanked the board for its generosity.
