TE AWAMUTU HOUSING AUCKLAND FIRM APPROACHED [bt telegraph OWN correspondent] TE AWAMUTU, Tuesday According to information received in Te Awamutu from the Parliamentary Under-Secretary in charge of Housing, Mr. J. A. hen, the tenders received for the erection of State houses in Te Awamutu greatly exceeded what was regarded by the Housing Department as a reasonable price. As a result the department is negotiating with an Auckland firm with a view to obtaining a more favourable price for the erection of the houses. It is understood that, upon the completion of these negotiations, the work will be commenced immediately.
