BCENIC BUSH RESERVES TRANSFER OF LAND APPROVED [by telegbaph—OWN correspondent] TE KTJITI, Saturday Th® suggestion that the bush land on tho opposite side of the State highway in the Awakino Valley, on the road to Awakino, should be declared a scene reserve., wan made by Mr. R. Jones at the Waitomo County Council meeting. He said the land was useless for farming, but was well known for its scenic beauty. This discussion arose upon receipt of a letter from the Forestry League ask- ' ing if tbe council would recommend areas in its district to be scenic reserves. Members agreed to report areas if thought desirable. \ letter from the Ohura County Council signified its agreement to an ar*a of land being transferred from Ohura to Waitomo. This area included th* land farmed by Messrs. Lotighlm and Barber, M. Canty and J. Strutherei. "This is very , satisfactory," com- . men ted Mr, G. P. Webster.
