Storing, Large Onions

It is a well-known fact that small nnd iiK-dium-sined onions keep sound much longer than large specimens. Hut. the hitter may* be kept in a firm and sound condition for a fairly long period if they are carefully lifted, prepared and housed. Do riot pull up the bulbs forcibly. When in the right condition for lifting the majority will part readily from the soil; any which will not do ho can be lifted with a hand fork. \\ hen fairly well dried as to their bases, place tho bulb's roots upwards with the attached portion of stem passed through two inch netting. In this position, where the air can pass freely oyer and under the bulbs, the latter will retain their plumpness many weeks longer than others placed oh shelving.
