POWER BOATING

CONTESTS FOR TO-DAY COURSE OFF TAMAKI DRIVE The New Zealand Power-Boat Association -'will hold a series of five races this afternoon for speed-boats. The events will be run off parallel to the Tainaki Drive and fairlv close inshore. ■— - • - Three mark* will-be laid, the centre one bping about the middle of Hobson Bay, where all races will start and finish. The other marks will he laid one to tho eastern end of Hobson Bay and the other to the western end, ofT the Parnell baths. The course is approximately half a mile. The first race will start at 2.30 p.m. Inboard and outboard boats are eligible. Following are the entries:— First Race.—Course, four laps: Imp, F. D. Pigeon; Mickey Mouse, R. A. Mouat; Spot, A. Williams; Colorado, L. Hardley; Miss 'Vnuxhall, Res. Tappenden; Gillian, C. J. Paine. Four other races will be held, with the same entries; in one of the races the boats must be steered by a lady. The officers of the day are:—Starter. Mr. G. P. Robertson; judge, Mr. A. Williams; timekeeper, Mr. F. A. Craig; clock operator, Mr. A. J. Collings; recorder, Mr. P. Hamblin.
