STAFFS FOR POLLING BOOTHS

Sir,—l would like with your permission to say a few words in reference to the Hon. B. Martin's suggestion to the Council that the staffing of deputy-returning officers and poll clerks should be picked through the Placement Office. Prior to a Labour Council gaining control, preference was always given to unemployed returned soldiers, who did their job well, as they did from 1914 to 1918, and 1 suggest that tho Council follow tho same procedure as their predecessors, and do this very small thing for tho returned men. Faik Play.
