WEEK-END ATTRACTIONS
TENNIS EXHIBITION GAMES WIDE VARIETY OF EVENTS A wide variety of e%'ents to appeal to followers of sports will bo held at the week-end. Tennis enthusiasts will be interested in the exhibition matches at the Stanley Street courts this afternoon between the Australian player A. K. Quist and Stedman and Brown. The veterans' handicap doubles tournament will be concluded in between the exhibition matches. The fourth series of matches in the senior championship of the Auckland Cricket Association will be completed to-day. The games at Eden Park will be between Y.M.C.A. and Eden, University and Grafton, and King's Old Boys and Parnell. Lower grade matches will also bo played, and there will be games in the Auckland City and Suburban Cricket Association competition. Tho annual regatta this afternoon of the Takapuna Boating Club will cator for thoso interested in yachting, the fixture being open to non-members and including all classes from L to Z. in addition to Silver Ferns and naval whalers. The club's At Home will be held to-morrow. There will bo no rowing in Auckland, as many oarsmen will bo at tho Mercer regatta. The North Shore Golf Club will open its season to-day and there will be games on other links. An event for swimmers this afternoon is the annual harbour race of the North Shore Amateur Swimming and Life-saving Club over a course of one and a-quarter miles.
