FAREWELL PARTY

ONEHUNGA SCOTS Upward of 200 members of the Onehunga and District Caledonian Society and their friends met in the Orphans' Hall, Onehunga, on Wednesday evening to farewell Mesdames N. Bothwell, R. Jack, E. Taylor and A. Coley, who are about to leave on an extended visit to Scotland. The ladies' auxiliary committee, under the chairmanship of Mrs. J. Stewart, organised the function, which comprised a variety of dances and'musical items.

Appropriate presentations were made to each of the departing guests by Mrs. Robert Buchanan, who in turn received a bouquet from Mrs. Stewart. Various games were played and vocal solos were given by Mrs. G. Black and Mr. 11. Taylor. Those wore followed .by a Scottish sketch by Mrs. It. Menzios and Mrs. W. H. Backhurst. Duets by Mrs. R. F. "Ellis and Mrs. G. Montgomery were also enjoyed. The accompanists were Mrs. J. C. McLean, Mrs. M. Catt and Mrs. I). Mclntyre. Bagpipe selections were rendered by Mr. G. Montgomery. Mrs. If. Clark was director of ceremonies.
