HOSPITAL BOARD

OTAHUHU REPRESENTATION CANDIDATE PROPOSED A suggestion that tho Otahuhu Borough Council should endeavour to nominate a candidate for the forthcoming Hospital Board election was approved in principle at its meeting this week. Mr. F. W. Grey said the district was entitled by its size to representation and he suggested that the Mayor, Mr. C R. I'etrie, M.P., should accept nomination. In reply to questions the town clerk, Mr. R- W. F. Wood, said the borough's levy was about £I6OO annually. ~ A * The Mayor said he could not accept nomination, but agreed that the council should support a district candidate. He suggested that Mr. A. Sinclair place his services at the council s disposal. Mr. Sinclair said he would definitely bo retiring from the council. He promised to give consideration to the council's request to stand for the Hospital Board election. The ward of which Otahuhu is a part is at present represented by the board chairman, the Rev. W. C. Wood.
