INCOME AND EMPLOYMENT The last opportunity of paving iiicom-3 tax, employment levy and the fourth instalment of the charge on income other than salary or wages derived during the financial year 193(i-'s7, without incurring i penalty, is to-day. The penalty for non-payment of income tax is an additional 5 per cent, while in the ease of the levy on income other thnn salary or wages the penalty is an extra JO per cent. For non-payment of the 5s levy, a fine ol (3d a month, with a maximum of 2s 6d, is provided. Although there were crowds of people paving their dues at the Chief Post Office yesterday, there was no undue congestion. A room on the second floor has heen set aside for employment tax payments, and there was an ample stall' oil* duty yesterday to attend to callers.
