THEFT BY WOMAN
"Drink has been her downfall," said Detective-Sergeant McHugh, when Elizabeth Sambidge, married, aged 35, was charged with the theft of £7, the property of Kenneth Young, in the Police Court vesterdav, before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M Air. MoHiigh said the woman had a nice home and three children. She met the complainant in a city hotel. He suggested a term of probation with strict conditions. "Bring her up if she breaks it in any way, and I will send her to the island for two years," said the magistrate in admitting the accused to probation for 12 months. He ordered ner to make restitution of the £7.
