BOY DIES IN HOSPITAL BULLET WOUND IN NECK [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] CHRISTCHURCH, Sunday A shooting fatality occurred in the Waimakariri riverbed yesterday, when John Brissett Clark,. aged 16, of 89 Clifton Street, Addington, was accidentally shot, and died in the Christchurcli Public Hospital this morning. The boy was out with some companions near tho Harewood golf links, and when the others began shooting at a target he left them. He is believed to havo Crossed the lino of fire, as he was found in tho riverbed with a bullet wound in his neck. • INJURIES TO YOUNG MAN CLIMBING THROUGH FENCE When a gun ho was carrying yestord#y morning was discharged, a plumber, Mr. Henry Vercoe, aged 22, single, of i |S Brentwood Avenue, Mount Eden, suffered severe wounds in the left forearm. Mr. Yercoo was climbing through ,ja fence after shooting rabbits when the ;gun got caught in tho wires and it discharged. Mr. Vercoe was taken to the Auckland Hospital, where his condition last night was reported to bo fairly serious.
