DAHLIA FIELD DAY

HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY FUNCTION AT DEVONPORT A delightful afternoon was spent on Saturday by members of tho Takapuna and District Horticultral Society when they were entertained at a dahlia field day by Dr. and Airs. H. C. Bennett at their homo in Victoria Road, Devonport. Tho garden, with its shady trees and green lawns, was an ideal setting for tho chief attraction, which was the display of nearly 300 dahlia plants in full bloom. During tho afternoon a lecture 011 dahlia culture was given by Air. G. AV. Wright, after which afternoon tea was served by a committee, comprising, Airs. H. C. Bennett, Airs. J. Garfield Stewart, Airs. H. Corbett, Airs. P. Robertson and Airs. G. Winstone. Among those present were: —Mrs. A. W. Wilson, Airs. A. M. Seaman, Mrs. H. N. Lcefe, Airs. J. Prickett, Airs. E. A.
