AN EXCELLENT RECORD R. S. BACBY AND HERRIES CUP The Ellerslie trainer R. S. Bagby has an excellent record in the Herries Memorial Cup, which he won with Stretto on Saturday. He had previously trained tho winner twice, scoring with Master Brierlv in 1934 and in 1937, and lie also rode In the Shado to victory in 1931. Bagby's record is one of which ho may be justifiably proud, as tho Herries Memorial Cup is one of tho leading handicap races in the Dominion. The condition in which Stretto was turned out for her first race over a middle distance on Saturday reflected much credit on Bagby, who had considerable trouble with her before getting her back to form.
