The bowlers were generally on top, and some excellent performances were registered. The best average was 'returned by C. G. Finlayson, R.Y., with [ nine wickets for :tS runs. Brixton, in its first innings the previous week, compiled OS and secured six runs lead from Green Lane. The wicket was in better order when play was commenced on Saturday, and Brixton scored 133 after a very bad start. Walker, 32, and Heminingson, 20, batted" well and stopped the, rot at the fifth wicket. Wilson followed with a useful 20. There was a big surprise for the spectators in Green Lane's second innings when Wilson dismissed Kerr for three and Barnes failed to score. Stallworthy howled A. Watts with the fourth ball of his first over, and Wilson secured two more wickets with successive halls in his second over. The score then read five wickets for 10. Morman scored 13 and Russell 14. and tho grade leaders were all out for 56. Wilson got a lot of pace from the wicket and in his seven overs took five wickets for 30 runs. Conditions were better for batting in tho second innings, and R.V. compiled 199. A good partnership by Cloke, 51, and Bambury, 50. was a feature of the batting.
