Mr. A. M. Gould left for Wellington 1 by the limited express last night. Sir William Hunt arrived from Well- | ington yesterday and is at the Grand Hotel. Captain R. C. Hammond returned by the limited express from Wellington on Saturday morning. Mr. Hendry Luke was a passenger; by the limited express from Wellington on Saturday morning. Sir Ernest Davis, Mayor of Auckland.- who has been spending a holiday in Rotorua, returned yesterday to Auckland. Mr. John Morton, who is now at St. Aidan's Church, Re;nuora, _ has been appointed organist and choirmaster at the Holy Sepulchre Church. Mr. H. C. Couch, district traffic manager of railways at Auckland, returned by the limited express from Wellington on Saturday morning, Mr. C. A. Burgess has been elected by the council of the New Zealand Golf ' Association to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. C. H. Andrews. Mr. Justice O'Regan, president of the Arbitration Court, was a passenger by the limited express from the South on Saturday morning. He is at the Central Hotel. Mr. P. E. Everett, chief architect of the Department of Public Works, Victoria, arrived by the Awatea on Saturday, and went to Wellington : by the limited express last night. Mr. A. W. Mulligan, private secretary to the Minister of Lands, _ the Hon. F. Langstone, has been appointed general secretary to the centennial branch of the Department of Internal Affairs. Mr. R. H. McKcnzie. of Hamilton, chairman of directors of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, will leave on March 15 for England to attend a meeting of Empire Dairies, Limited, in London. Mr. H. F. W. Meikle, Mayor of Devonport, and Mr. A. E. Wilson, town clerk, travelled by motor-car to New Plymouth on Saturday to attend i the annual conference of the New Zealand Municipal Association, which opens to-morrow. Mr. J. Guiniven, Mayor of Takapuna, left by train last night. '
