WAITEMATA AMATEUR CLUB ANNUAL HARBOUR RACE Tho Waitemata Amateur Swimming and Life-Saving Club's harbour race of one and a-half miles from Orakei wharf to tho Akarana boatshed will be held to-morrow, starting at 3 p.m. Tho following handicaps have been declared: —P. VENUE OF CHAMPIONSHIPS AUCKLAND SUPPORT SOLICITED A letter was received from the Bay) of Plenty Contro at yesterday's meeting of the Auckland Swimming Centre asking that it be supported in its endeavour to hold tho 103)) junior and intermediate championships at Itotorua, as the Hiuvko's Bay Centre had made application to have them held at Napier. It was decided to advise the Bay of Plenty Centre that tho matter had been fully discussed, and the Auckland delegate to the Now Zealand Council had been instructed to support the Hawke's Bay application. Advice was received in a circular letter from tho New Zoaland Council that Misses M. Loydon, G. Rix and J. Macdonald would be making an educational tour of the North Island, commencing at Wellington at a very early date. Tho council notified the details of tho financial arrangements, and asked if appearances were desired in tho Auckland Province. It was decided to send copies of the circular to all tho Auckland Centre's affiliated clubs, also to the recontly-formed clubs at Kaikohe, Warkworth and Tuakau, asking if they desired appearances. The Otahuhu Club was granted permission to hold a four miles river swim for a special trophy on March 13. TAUMARUNUI TITLES [BY TEI.T3OBAPH —OWN COIUtERPONDENT] TAUMARUNUI, Thursday ' Tho Taumarunt'.i Swimming Club held a successful carnival on Wednesday. Among the successful competitors were Lea Ware, who won the four major events—Taumarunui Cup, taxi drivers' shield, 33 l-3yds championship and 00 2-3 yds championship. V. Davis, aged 10, won the Maori championship and the boys' junior championship. Peggy Thompson won the girls' Junior championship and the ladles' 33 l-3yds championship and, with Les Ware, tho dual relay race.
