AUSTRIAN NAZIS
APPEAL FOR DISCIPLINE DR. INQUART'S BROADCAST NOISY DEMONSTRATION VIENNA, Feb. 22 The Minister of the Interior and Security, Dr. Inquart, in a broadcast appeal for the maintenance of order and discipline, issued an injunction to Austrian Nazis, saying that they must gain their ends by peaceful penetration. The use of the Reich flag for purposes of demonstration was forbidden, also the use of "Heil Hitler" and the singing of Nazi songs.
Nazis demonstrated for four hours in front of the Opera House, shouting and singing and assaulting nonsviupathiiers. The police, abandoning recent restraint, arrested a number. STUDENTS' RIOT UNIVERSITY CLOSED VIENNA, Feb. .22 The police have closed the University after the student supporters of Dr. Schuschnigg had occupied the university hall and clashes had occurred on the steps of the building.
