HAMILTON COURTHOUSE
REMOVAL OF SECTION [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Wednesday The work of removing a section of the old courthouse from its foundations in Victoria Street to a new site in Ohaupo Road was started this evening. The section, comprising about a quarter of the building, was lifted by means of jacks from its concrete base on to low-wheeled trolleys. It was then drawn by motor vehicles to Ohaupo .Road. The remaining sections will bo removed in the same way. The site in Victoria Street will he occupied by the new chief post office, and the old courthouse will be converted into flats.
