(MAINLY FAIR AND WARM :SOME ISOLATED SHOWERS The weather, report and forecast for New-Zealand issued by the Government meteorologist last evening were as follows: —An anti-cyclone still covers New Zealand, itf> centre being located to the >ast. Pressure is low to tbo north and H deep depression is situated over eastrrn Australia and the western Tasinau Sea. The forecast is for north-easterly .to northerly winds moderate to strwnn in the far north, elsewhere liy;ht to Moderate, but gradually freshening and later becoming strong about and south of Cook Strait. Seas rather rough on the east coast of thu Auckland peninsula. elsewhere slight to moderate but ]nter rising in the Cook and Foveaux Straits areas. Kasteru Tasman Sea: .North-cast winds in the northern portion and northerly in the southern portion, force moderate to strong and increasing with moderate .but rising seas. The weather is likely to be mainly fair to fine and warm but some morning fogs and a few isoiatf'l showers are probable with some scattered rain developing later in South .iWcstland and the far south. SPECIAL AUCKLAND FORECAST FA IK, WITH SHOWERS LIKELY The Government meteorologist issued to the Hkrat.d last evening the following special forecast for the Auckland Province:—Moderate to strong northeasterly winds. The weather is likely to be mainly fair to cloudy, but some scattered showers or misty rain are probable. Temperatures warm. Seas rather rough on the east coast and •slight to moderate 011 the west coast.

The maximum temperature was 78 degrees • . nnd the minimum 69 degrees. Barometric pressure was fairly steady. Barometer, 'midnight, steady . . 30.10 in. Midnight, Tuesday .. 30.1 Gin. "Wellington. Brilliantly fine and ' warm weather prevailed with a gentle northerly breeze. The minimum temperature on Tuesday night was 54.0 degrees and the maximum yesterday 72.9 degrees. At 3.-MO p.m. the baro- ' meter reading was 30.04 in. Christchuri'h. —The day was fine with passing clouds', occasional sunshine and a moderate east-north-easterlv wind. The maximum temperature was 60.2 degrees. At 3 p.m. the reading of the barometer, vhich was falling slowly, ii.was 30.003itK. Dunedin. —The weather was fine and ' funny, with a moderate breeze from the north-east.
