INTER-CENTRE MATCH WIN FOR SOUTH AUCKLAND ELEVEN GAMES TO FIVE The annual inter-centre contest for the Hard ley Memorial Shield, between the representatives of the Auckland and South Auckland Bowling Centres, was played on the Carlton Club's green yesterday, when victory went to the visitors, who won by 11 games to live. The visiting bowlers received a cordial welcome from the president of the Auckland Centre, Mr. W. J. Truscott. The contest was confined to eight rinks a side and. as usual, two rounds were played. In the morning the issue was very close, four wins to each side resulting, with the visitors slightly ahead on points by 15U to J 54. When the shield was last played for the venue was Hamilton, and victory went to the Auckland Centre representatives, who won oight games to six, with two drawn. Yesterday's function was favoured by fine weather, and the greens played keen and true. Following were the results, Auckland players being mentioned first in each instance:— MORNING HOUND W. W.
