SWIMMING
CANADIANS AT MILFORD Over 3200 schoolchildren, teachers and parents of the North Shore districts assembled at the Milford Pool on Tuesday afternoon to hear a lecture on swimming and physical development by the coach of the Canadian Empire (James swimmers, Mr, T. Walker, and witness an exhibition of swimming and diving liy members of the team. The display was fostered by the Auckland SwimniiuK Centre as part of its "iearh-to* 1 swim" campaign with the approval of the education authorities. Transport for the children was provided by the North Shore Transport Bus Company. The Canadians were entertained at afternoon tea by Mr. w. H. Taylor. The visitors were impressed with the facilities for swim- J ming at Milford. Mr. T. C. Hobljs-Joues. chairman of the Auckland centre, thanked Mr. Walker and the members of the team for (heir efforts, which had proved both interesting and instructive.
