AUCKLAND- CLUB'S EVENTS SUCCESS OF AMISS D. LUMLEY Fire events were decided at the Domain Cricket Ground last evening by the Auckland Amateur Athletic nnd Cycle Club. LADY SPRINT CHAMPION enthusiastic welcome home ' Over one hundred members of the Auckland Amateur Ath'etic and Cycle Club attended the club rooms on Tuesday evening when an enthusiastic welcome home was tendered Miss Doreen Lumley. Auckland sprint champion, on hrr return from the Empiro Games. Regret was expressed that Miss Lum- ' ley had lost a good deal of weight owing to indisposition, and that consequently sho had not been able to f''ow her true speed at the Games. The name adopted was Franklin Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club and daik grey was decided on as the club's colours. The secretary of the Auckland Arnatenr Athletic Centre, Mr. H. J. Wily, was present, and detailed the rules wh ch applied in the case of clubs controlled by the centre. Ihe meeting adopted rules based on the Auckland rules.
