ELLERSLIE DISTRICT

Sir, —I quite agreo with "Antistrutter" in his remarks about the neglected state of Ellerslio roads, etc. Nothing is done to beautify the suburb or to make it attractive. Yet it is adjacent to the city, with a choice of, transit by bus, tram or train at rates within roach of all. It possesses a good volcanic soil, is fresh and healthy and, from the elevated portion, a wonderful panoramic view can be obtained. However, the revival in building has made very little difference to this district, and upon the system of rating on unimproved value one pays heavy rates year after year on sections without any chance whatever of disposing of them at a reasonable! price. Lax.
