Francis (St. Kilda'l, 80 points, 1; F. Ormond (Port Nicholson), 79, 2; PI. Parsonage (Port Nicholson), 78, 3. 13 Flat Cornet Championship.—A. Morton (New Zealand Institute for the Blind), 92 points, 1; C. Gardner (Auckland Regimental), 84, 2; H. F. Vincent (Port Nicholson), 78, 3. Following are the placings in the first selection, A grade test:—Port Nicholson Silver Band. Wanganui Garrison, Tim.aru Municipal, Wellington Tramways, Auckland Artillery, Palmerston North Garrison, Auckland First Battalion. The points will be declared at the conclusion of the second selection on Friday night. The winner of the cornet championship, A. Mortoi. who is only 18 years old, has never seen a printed note of music in his life, everything having to be transcribed into Braille for him. He won the New Zealand championship two years ago at his first competitive effort.
