MEN'S CLOTHING
SEASON'S POPULAR WEAR COLOURS IN FAVOUR LONDON. Feb. 17 Blue-grey will be the most popular colour for men's suits this season, says the Tailor and Cutter. Styles will be little changed. The most noteworthy alteration will be double-breasted coats, fastened with one button. Midnight blue will spread from dinner-jacket to the full-dress suit. Coats will show a Regency tendency. They will bo cut higher and the lapels will be more curly. The fronts will be shorter and more cutaway. Oldfashioned cloth buttons are displacing bono ones. The influence of sports clothes and ski-ing costumes is affecting lounge suits. Ox-blood cloth threatens to spread from golf to street suits. The effect with the new tartan shirts is startling. Stripes are popular. The latest is the syncopated stripe coat. Trousers have stripes of a different width. There is a dearth of apprentices in the English trade, although a cutter may earn £ISOO a year.
