SUMMER SHOW

DISPLAY AT WHAKATANE GOOD QUALITY STOCK INTERESTING COMPETITIONS LIST OF JUDGES' AWARDS .. [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] WHAKATANE, Tuesday The storms of the past week were reflected in the condition of the exhibits in many classes, and £he lighter entries in the stock divisions because of Ihe blocked road at Matata, at the Whakatane Agricultural and Pastoral Association's annual show to-day. Local people supported the show well, and some good class animals were penned. The day was sunny, and there was a large attendance of the public. Competitions in the horse classes were interesting, and the ground was in perfect condition for jumping. In the pig classes, expert opinion was that the exhibits compared more than favourably with other shows from Katikati to \Vairoa. The entries had been got up well.| Some good Friesian cattle were .shbwii, the judge considering them as good or better than the. entries in many larger shows. The Jerseys , were strong numerically and in quality, and the judge regretted that so many excellent cows had to be eliminated. The draught horses were of a fine type. The following is a list of the judges' awards: — *, CATTLE .. ; Registered Milking: Shorthorns. Bull, . three years and over: E. Law, 1 and champion. Bull calf: E. Law, 1.
