NEW GUINEA MISHAP VISITOR FROM SYDNEY MACHINE BADLY DAMAGED By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received February 18, 12.10 a.m.) SYDNEY. Feb. 17 A message was received from New Guinea stating that a Sydney girl flier, Miss Barbara Hitchins, was missing between Kerema and Wau, and that several airmen, including Mr. Ray Parer, were searching for her. Miss Hitchins flew from Sydney to New Guinea a few weeks ago. She took off from Karema, which is 200 miles north-west of Port Moresby, on Tuesday, and since then had not been reported. Amalgamated Wireless, Sydney, received a message this evening from New Guinea stating that Miss Hitchins had been found by an airman, Sir. J. Todd, 60 miles south-west of Madang. She was not injured but her machine was badly damaged.
