NEW DRAINAGE SYSTEM COMPLETION THIS WEEK [from our own correspondent] PUKEKOHE, Thursday The installation of the sewerae* system at Pukekohe will, probably b® completed by to-morrow, according to a report made by the drainage engineer, Mr. W. A. Grav, at last night's meeting of the Pukekohe Borough Council. He stated that the total cost to the council should work out* at about £27,250. The Mayor, Mr. C. K. Laurie, said this could be regarded as very satis-• factory. The contract price was £27,100. Included in the total was £2BB, the cost of the additional sewer installed to serve the State houses to be erected in the borough. The Government Housing Department wrote agreeing to pay £137 10s toward the cost of the sewer.. It was stated that instructions had been given for the calling of tenders for the erection of the Maori restroom at Pukekohe, th<j Native Department having agreed to negotiate the lease of the site from the Railway Department.
