QUEEN CARNIVAL

FUNCTION AT TE KUITI The investiture of the competitors in the queen carnival hold at To Kuiti was a colourful function performed before a large number of people at the Winter Show. Although a thunderstorm marred the actual procession, the ceremony itself was most attractive. A feature was the welcome by supporters of the Maori queen. The queens and their attendants were invested by Dr. C. W. J.saac as follows: —Maori queen: Takurangi Herewini and her attendants, Molly Joseph and Hinewai Mnnnwaiti.
