OBSTRUCTION CHARGE

WATERSIDER BEFORE COURT AN ADJOURNMENT GRANTED Charged with wilfulj.v obstructing a constable in the execution of his duty on January 21, and with the theft of a flag valued at 12s, the property of the Union Steam Ship Company of New Zealand, Limited, on January 17, Owen Byrne, waterside worker (Mr. Sullivan), appeared in the Police Court before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., yesterday. Mr. Sullivan asked for an adjournment, as the summons had becu served only in the morning. Sub-Inspector Fox said the case had been set down for hearing on Monday as some of tho witnesses were on the Awatea, which had arrived only a short time previously. The case was adjourned until February 23.
