HOLLAND REVISITED
MILL HILL FATHER'S TRIP WAR FEARS IN EUROPE
Returning from a visit to his native country, Holland, the Very Rev. Father M. Alink, Superior in New Zealand of the St. Joseph Foreign Missionary Society, arrived at Auckland by the Awatea yesterday. The members of the society, who are commonly known as the Mill Hill Fathers, after their college at Mill Hill, London, are in charge of the Maori mission work in the' Auckland Diocese.
Unrest was prevalent in Europe, Father Alink said, and there was a constant dread that something was about to happen, but many authorities believed that a crisis would be averted. "At such a time," he added, "my own feelings in the matter are that I am very glad to be back in New Zealand."
Reference was made by Father Alink to the jubilation in Holland nt the birth of a daughter to Princess Juliana. He said that, even at Christmas, decorations were being erected in the towns and he could imagine the universal rejoicings when the child was born.
