BOY ACTOR'S EARNINGS
UNABLE TO PAY FATHER COURT APPLICATION HOLLYWOOD. Feb. 13 The boy film actor Freddie Bartholomew has applied to the Court for leave to cease making payments) to bis father, Mr. Cecil Bartholomew. The applicant said he was saddled with debts amounting to 96 ; 800 dollars out of his annual salary of 98,000 dollars, necessitating his stopping payments to his father. His. debts included 67,000 dollars in income tax, 15,000 dol lars for attorney's fees, 6000 dollars for agents' fees, 9800 dollars living expences, and 44,300 dollars past agents' fees. The petition revealed that the boy's bank account was only 18,800 dollars. LAUREL'S DIVORCE SUIT DECREE DECLARED VALID HOLLYWOOD. Feb. 13 The Court has validated the divorce and remarriage of the film comedian, Stan Laurel, which took place on January 11. Since Laurel's marriage to tho Russian singer, Vera Shuvalova, his former wife, Virginia Ruth Laurel, has been constantly following him and seeking to invalidate his divorce .and remarriage She went so far as to file an affidavit in tho Court, quoting an alleged incident supporting her assertion that the final divorce decree was obtained fraudulently.
