PKOSPECTS FOR TO-DAY TEN HORSES( IN HANDICAP PONTY POPULAR SELECTION Very eatisfactoi'y acceptances have been received for the second day of the Dunedin Jockey Club's meeting at Wingatui to-day, when the principal events will be the Dunedin Jockey Club Handicap and the James Hazlett Gold Cup. As was the case last year and tho year before, he is to begin his jumping campaign in Southland. The Great Western Steeplechase at Riverton at Easter is his first important cross-country engagement, and tho Grand National winner will not be too backward if he maintains his present rate o:f progress.
