World Car Production
AMERICA IN THE LEAD Figures compiled by Government officials in tho United States show that 42,146,576 automobiles have been produced in the world during the last 10 years, the plants in the United States and Canada and their assembly branches accounting for 34,809,224 units, or 82.6 per cout of the total. There were 29,687,499 automobiles in world uso on January 1, 1928, and 82 per cent were then in the United States. At tho beginning of 1937 tho world total had advanced about 37 per cent to 40,560,167, of which slightly over 70 per cent were in the United States.
Of the world passenger car output in tho 10 years 29,108,631 (76 per cent) were American. Of the 7,502,739 commercial total, more than 84 per cent were American.
in the United States there are 20 automobiles to every 100 persons.
