HISTORICAL ROMANCE
The popular Scottish novelist, Christine Orr, provides another' first-rate historical romance in her story, "Gentle Eagle." She endeavours to do justice to James IV. and the two words of her title arc her tribute to both his kindness and bravery. She emphasises his remorse after the death of his father and his renunciation of the woman he loved, Margaret Drummond, and although there were extenuating ; circumstances. in both incidents —as Christine Orr makes clear —,veti James was morbidly unhappy. '.'Gentle Eagle" is more than a novel; it is an incisive, character study, "Gentle Eagle," by Christine Orr. tlnter. national Publishing Co.)
